Advocacy
By being a member of the FWES PTA, you are also a member of the Wake County PTA, the North Carolina PTA, and the National PTA - all these organizations have easy ways to learn about our public schools and advocate for every child.
The WCPSS Board of Education holds regular meetings, open to the public, as indicated on the School Board Calendar. Meetings are held at the district offices at 5625 Dillard Drive, Cary, unless indicated otherwise on the meeting schedule.
All board meetings, work sessions, and committee meetings are live-streamed on the WCPSS YouTube channel.
For more information about upcoming or past meeting agendas and/or minutes, please see the WCPSS Meetings Listing page.
FWES is in District 9, which is represented at the Wake County Board of Education (BOE) by Tyler Swanson (tjswanson@wcpss.net). If you have questions or concerns that you would like represented at a BOE level, Tyler is the person to contact.
You may find that when you go to the polls to vote, you will be voting for the BOE member in another district. Magnet families that attend FWES may live outside of the BOE District 9. While this can be confusing at times, Tyler Swanson is the representative of FWES and the right person to contact.
For questions about advocacy that you want directed to the FWES PTA, please reach out to us through this form.
