FWES Community Garden

Our gardens grow on community support.

Volunteers harvest, water, make repairs, lead garden sessions, weed, till, shop, coordinate, share knowledge, and more!

EXPLORE OUR GARDENS

Vegetable Garden

Classes sign up for gardening sessions on Tuesday and Friday mornings throughout the school year. Students sow seeds, water, and harvest. Parents can help facilitate or just lend a hand during these sessions.

"Garden Lessons" are new for the 2023-24 school year. A parent leads a 30 minute lessons in the garden that align to science standards. The materials are prepared and don't require any planning. Most lessons involve reading through the lessons, making observations in the garden, then discussing what the students discover.

Summertime is for families. Families can sign up to visit the garden to help with harvesting.

The garden is watered by volunteers daily during the summer and during most of the school year.

Native Pollinator Garden

The butterfly garden is the perfect place to view pollinators in action. Located right by the second grade classrooms, this garden ties right into their science unit on pollinators.
